What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery Route Driver position at Metropolis Coffee Company?
Our Delivery Driver is responsible for efficiently completing a route of deliveries Tuesday through Friday of our products to customers in and around the city of Chicago, while representing our brand in a positive way. Drivers are expected to plan effective routes to complete deliveries on time, and to create positive interactions with our clients.
Basic Duties Include (but not limited to):
1. Plan daily delivery route with assistance from routing app
2. Load delivery vehicle
3. Make deliveries
4. Collect customer payments
5. Discern any customer concerns/service issues
6. Complete driver log
7. Account for and turn in collections
8. Inform appropriate individuals of customer concerns/service issues
9. Maintain delivery vehicle
10. Make occasional emergency or non-routine deliveries, pickups, etc. as asked
Requirements:
1. Hold a valid driver’s license, have a clean driving record
2. Experience driving Sprinter Vans / Box Trucks or larger vehicles in a delivery capacity (6 months)
3. Be able to count cash, and use basic math skills to check orders against invoices
4. Be able to lift 50 lbs. multiple times per day
5. Ability to use map software to plan an efficient route
6. Ability to work independently, problem solve on the fly, and communicate effectively and courteously with staff and customers
7. Background check and drug test required
Recommended Experience:
- 1-2 years as a delivery route driver and/or
- 1-2 years in a warehouse
