Summary:
Very fast paced and busy dermatology group located in Pineville area of Charlotte. Our office does Mohs surgery, general dermatology, and cosmetic dermatology. We are currently seeking an EXPERIENCED full-time CMA/RMA to join our team. We are looking for someone who is flexible, outgoing, able to multitask, and is a team player with great personal skills and extreme attention to detail.
Job Responsibilities:
- Setting up exam rooms daily. Cleaning exam rooms after each patient visit.
- Rooming patients to exam rooms, obtaining a medical history, updating patients’ medication lists. Reviewing additional medication and educational information after the MD completes the visit
- Performing tasks such as obtaining vitals, assisting in biopsies, bandaging patients, preparing lidocaine, numbing patients, suture removals
- Assisting MD on surgery days - assisting in Mohs surgeries, excisions, bandaging patients, reviewing detailed wound care with patients
- Assisting providers in cosmetic procedures, such as PRP and injectables
- Ancillary tasks such as calling patients regarding biopsy results and logging all surgical specimens submitted to pathology and the final diagnosis upon receipt of final pathology report in the computer
- Preparing lidocaine, stocking rooms, ordering supplies when necessary
- Answering patient calls, pharmacies, other offices and triaging patient phone calls regarding medical conditions and medications
- Calling all patients to report lab results, tissue diagnosis and/or culture results along with detailing all phone calls in patients’ electronic chart
- Maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures
- Collect, log and package lab specimens for transport
- Sterilize medical instruments
- Heavy scribing and patient education
- Dermatology experience a MUST
- EMA experience a plus

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent certificate
- Registered/Certified Medical Assistant Certification (preferred)
- Ability to learn related center tasks and be of assistance to management and physicians
- Self-motivated to achieve the highest patient care and customer service standards
- Familiarity with the ModMed EMA EMR (preferred)
- Thorough understanding of HIPAA law
- Team player
