Duties
- Safely load and unload furniture, appliances, boxes, and other items using proper lifting techniques and equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary
- Assist customers with moving items into or out of their homes or businesses, providing excellent customer service with a positive attitude
- Operate box trucks and commercial vehicles with manual transmission for local deliveries and pickups, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and secure cargo efficiently to prevent shifting during transit, ensuring safe transportation of goods
- Drive route-specific delivery trucks to designated locations, managing schedules effectively to meet delivery deadlines
- Help with warehouse organization by stacking pallets, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean work environment
- Communicate professionally with team members and customers to coordinate deliveries or moves smoothly
Qualifications
- Prior experience in moving, delivery driving, or warehouse work is highly preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus but not required for all roles
- Experience operating box trucks or similar vehicles with manual transmission
- Knowledge of heavy lifting techniques and safety procedures to prevent injury
- Familiarity with tools such as pallet jacks, forklifts (certification is a bonus), and other moving equipment
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Ability to work physically demanding shifts involving lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
