In this role, you'll work with our Nutrition Programs team to ensure clients in our service area receive a positive pantry experience in their times of need.

The Temporary (Contract) Pantry Coordinator operates as a front-line leader to ensure the success of food pantry distribution and assists in the coordination and execution of daily pantry operations during our Thanksgiving Program and Holiday Program. Hours can be flexible Monday – Saturday and some evenings.
Requirements:Experience
- Experience with project management, special events and/or volunteer management (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Professional, clear and concise writing style, proficiency in all Microsoft Office components
- Ability to interact well with individuals and groups and maintain a positive attitude
- Ability to think strategically and manage time efficiently
- Passionate about the mission and be comfortable sharing that mission with others
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs. and be on their feet for long periods of time
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Direct food pantry volunteer distribution and assign packing shifts
- Lead volunteer shifts to support food pantry programs
- Distribute food and essential items to clients
- Record services to track number of families served
- Help edit and create nutrition education materials and other program materials for clients
- Assist with the physical distribution of food resources to the community and loading of food boxes through Mobile distribution sites
- Assist in coordination of food orders and related program logistics
- Act as contact person for Thanksgiving and Holiday food drives for questions about organizing drives and scheduling pick-ups and drop-offs
- Act as contact person for schools and church partners
- Assist in all areas of the food pantry including volunteer supervision
- Ensure communication with Volunteer Manager regarding seasonal program volunteer needs
- Lead seasonal program volunteer shifts
- Train and supervise seasonal interns/contract workers
- Assist Pantry Manager in special projects including nutrition education and client communication
- Other duties as assigned
Schedule Commitment
Hours can be flexible Monday – Saturday and some evenings. Contract term: Date of hire through January 31, 2026. This position requires punctuality and dependability in attendance to meet the needs of our clients and the agency.
