Services may include, but are not limited to, monitoring staff performance, managing monthly budget by tracking program expenses, and promoting linkage, advocacy, monitoring, crisis intervention and continuity of care for residents. The Safe Haven Program Manager ensures compliance with agency standards and HUD requirements. This position models positive work habits. Promotes the maximization of the consumers potential level of functioning, reduces hospitalizations and aids in the successful reintegration of consumers into the community.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Provides overall program management and support to staff. Perform duties in concert with other members of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Trains community living specialist staff on Safe Haven Work requirements.
- Conducts biweekly staff meetings to communicate with staff and review resident concerns.
- Maintains staff training requirements in accordance with agency standards and requirements.
- Provides in person training and supervision with staff to assure quality resident care.
- Maintains staff schedule to provide 24 hour staff support on site. Reviews and approves schedules and time entry for staff.
- Completes ongoing and yearly evaluations of staff. Identifies and addresses potential areas of conflict between staff members and management.
- Monitors and responds to on-call schedule for weekend coverage. Provides coverage, as needed, if short staffed.
- Monitors performance of staff members engaging with residents. Shadows staff members during service delivery to identify areas for coaching. Completes monthly interviews with residents to promote quality of interactions with staff.
- Provides oversight of meal planning for residents of the Safe Haven Program.
- Purchases food and supplies for program.
- Prepares and serve meals as needed.
- Maintains inventory/supplies for program needs.
- Manages food donations at Safe Haven Program to organize, distribute, and store excess food for inventory.
- Assists with cleaning program site as needed.
- Manages expenses of program to remain within budget constraints.
- Monitors expenses on a monthly basis and submit all receipts for expenses in accordance with agency standards and requirements.
- Tracks expenses on a monthly basis to remain within grant budget limits.
- Completes Dallas County monthly and quarterly reports to monitor occupancy in program.
- Documents and reviews incident reports relating to residents in accordance with agency time requirements.
- Completes unit inspections as needed.
- Fosters and maintains a positive relationship with property management.
- Submits maintenance requests to property management, monitors and advocates for completion of maintenance as needed.
- Participates in interdisciplinary team staffing. Presents psychosocial assessment findings. Updates team on progress or lack of progress in reaching agreed upon goals. Provides relevant information that might effect treatment.
- Follows-up with assigned residents who are not engaging in Safe Haven services. Documents attempts to contact consumer. Reports repeated unsuccessful efforts to contact to the treatment team.
- Follows-up within 24 hours on assigned consumers who access emergency services. Reports status-disposition to treatment team. 100% compliance expected.
- Provides crisis intervention. Makes home visits, initiate mental illness warrants, works with police and other public servants as a needed to address crisis.
- Facilitates inpatient admission upon request of the treatment team. Provides continuity of services throughout inpatient stay. Participates actively in discharge planning. Meets with the consumer within 5 days of discharge into the community.
- Solicits feedback from residents to promote continued process improvements, and consult with colleagues and team members when dealing with unfamiliar/uncomfortable issues.
- Assists with yearly recertification of residents to promote housing stability.
- Documents resident entry and exit from Safe Haven Program in accordance with agency standards and requirements.
- Collaborates with treatment team members to identify and assist residents in obtaining entitlements by providing referrals, advocacy and negotiation, as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associates degree in Behavioral Sciences, Business Administration, Healthcare or related degree with 1 to 3 years experience in MH/MR or related field and management of direct reports required.
- Bachelors degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field with 0 to 2 years experience in human services preferred
- Basic math skills required.
- Ability to work with reports and numbers.
- Ability to calculate moderately complex figures and amounts to accurately report activities and budgets.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
- Use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to successfully use an automated clinical record keeping system.
- Ability to utilize Internet for resources.
- Current State of Texas Driver License or if you live in another state, must be currently licensed in that state. If licensed in another state, must obtain Texas Driver License within three (3) months of employment.
- Liability insurance required if employee will operate personal vehicle on Center property or for Center business. Must be insurable by Centers liability carrier if employee operates a Center vehicle or drives personal car on Center business. Must have an acceptable driving record.
