Metrocare programs focus on the issues that matter most in the lives of the children, families, and adults we serve.
The DDRTC Qualified Mental Health Professional provides psychosocial/rehabilitative services to persons with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. DDRTC is located at the Judge John C. Creuzot Judicial Treatment Center. Clients in the program are on probation and are court-ordered for six-month residential treatment by Dallas County Community Supervision and Corrections. Services may include but are not limited to assessment, developing measurable treatment goals and objectives, referral, linkage, advocacy, monitoring, crisis intervention, and continuity of care. Provide individual, marriage, family, and treatment group services. The overall goal of this position is to maximize clients’ potential level of functioning, reduce hospitalization, and aid in their successful reintegration into the community.
HOURS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Provide service coordination, referral, linkage, and advocacy to individuals with varying needs.
- Perform duties in concert with other members of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Ensure authorization for clinical services.
- Complete a psychosocial assessment on each new admission.
- Formulate individual recovery plans based on assessment findings on all new admissions.
- Develop measurable objectives and goals agreed upon by the individual.
- Actively assist in obtaining and modifying goals as needed.
- Document attempts to involve individuals, service providers, family members (when possible), and in-house Probation staff in the treatment/recovery plan process.
- Review recovery plans every three months or as clinically indicated.
- Execute recovery plan to assigned individuals in accordance with authorized services, meeting objective measures set forth by the client.
- Actively engage and document all individuals assigned to caseload.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team staffing.
- Present psychosocial assessment findings.
- Update team on progress or lack of progress in reaching agreed-upon goals.
- Provide relevant information that might affect treatment.
- Follow-up within 24 hours on assigned individuals who access emergency services upon their return to the facility.
- Report status disposition to the treatment team.
- Provide crisis intervention.
- Facilitate inpatient admission upon request of the treatment team.
- Provide individual, family, and group rehabilitation sessions.
- Evaluate the progress of clinical sessions, solicit individual(s) feedback, and consult with colleagues and team leaders when dealing with unfamiliar/uncomfortable issues.
- Identify and assist individuals in obtaining entitlements by providing referrals, advocacy, and negotiation, as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in human services with 1 to 3 years experience in MH/MR or related field, or
- Master’s degree with 0 to 2 years’ experience in human services.
Mathematical Skills
- Basic math skills required.
- Ability to work with reports and numbers.
- Ability to calculate moderately complex figures and amounts to accurately report activities and budgets.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions.

- Current State of Texas Driver's License or, if you live in another state, must be currently licensed in that state. If licensed in another state, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within three (3) months of employment.
- Liability insurance is required if the employee will operate a personal vehicle on Center property or for Center business. Must be insurable by the Center’s liability carrier if the employee operates a Center vehicle or drives a personal car on Center business. Must have an acceptable driving record.
