Overview
Metro Window & Door, a family-owned window and door company serving Jefferson and Oldham counties, is looking for experienced Window and Door Installer subcontractors to take on installation projects on a per-job basis. We're known for high-quality products and workmanship, and we're growing — if you run your own installation business (solo or with a crew) and want a steady pipeline of local work, we'd like to hear from you.
This is an independent contractor role: you set your own schedule, use your own tools and vehicle, and are paid per completed job rather than by the hour.
Scope of Work
- Install windows, doors, and related materials per project specifications
- Fabricate components as needed for specific projects
- Use your own hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate installations
- Complete assigned jobs on the agreed timeline and to company quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site throughout each project
Requirements
- Proven experience in Window/Door installation, including Full-Frame Installations
- Own tools and a reliable work vehicle
- Active general liability insurance (proof required); workers' comp coverage required if bringing your own crew
- Operate as a registered business; able to provide a signed W-9
- Blueprint/schematic reading and problem-solving skills
- Two-person crew strongly preferred
- Must be able to pass a standard background check
Pay & Terms
- Flat rate per completed job, based on project scope (paid upon completion and quality inspection)
- Paid as a 1099 independent contractor — no taxes withheld; you're responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and equipment
