Bay Cities Ambulance is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our administrative team. This position supports payroll processing, employee benefits, and related administrative functions for a multi-company.
We are looking for someone who is organized, accurate, comfortable working with confidential information, and able to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Processing weekly payroll accurately and on time
- Review employee timekeeping, payroll changes, deductions, and other payroll information
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies
- Process new hires, terminations, wage changes, deductions, and other employee updates
- Assist employees with payroll and benefits questions
- Support enrollment and changes for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other employee benefit programs
- Coordinate benefit deductions and reconcile benefit information to payroll
- Assist with leave administration and employee benefit documentation
- Maintain accurate payroll and benefits records
- Work with payroll, HR, accounting, benefit carriers, and outside vendors to resolve issues
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information
- Assist with audits, reporting, reconciliations, and other payroll or benefits projects as needed
Qualifications
- Previous payroll, benefits, accounting, or HR administrative experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, and large amounts of employee data
- Strong Excel skills preferred
- Ability to organize multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines
- Ability to research discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution
- Professional judgment when handling confidential employee information

Pay: $17.21 - $22.49 per hour
