Metro Services Unlimited LLC is seeking a dependable, experienced CDL Class A Dump Truck Driver for local hauling throughout Athens, Huntsville, and the North Alabama area.
This is a manual-transmission tri-axle dump truck. Applicants with an automatic-transmission-only restriction will not qualify.
Position Details
- Local hauling — home daily
- Manual-transmission tri-axle dump truck
- Hauling dirt, topsoil, gravel, stone, asphalt, construction materials, and similar loads
- Work primarily throughout North Alabama
- Schedule and weekly hours vary based on contractor workload, weather, and available projects
- Opportunity for additional hours as workload increases
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a manual-transmission tri-axle dump truck
- Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Safely load, haul, and dump construction materials
- Navigate quarries, jobsites, landfills, and active construction areas
- Communicate professionally with contractors, dispatchers, and site personnel
- Complete required tickets, paperwork, and trip documentation
- Monitor tires, brakes, fluids, lights, and other basic equipment conditions
- Immediately report mechanical or safety concerns
- Keep the truck cab and equipment reasonably clean
- Follow DOT regulations and company safety procedures
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A
- Must be proficient operating a manual transmission
- No automatic-transmission-only restriction
- Current DOT medical card
- Acceptable driving record
- Ability to meet DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements
- Dependable transportation to the truck
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Comfortable operating in quarries and active construction sites
- Understanding of safe backing, loading, and dumping procedures
Preferred Experience
Preference will be given to applicants with experience operating:
- Tri-axle dump trucks
- Manual 8-, 9-, or 10-speed transmissions
- Heavy-duty vocational trucks
- Quarry and aggregate routes
- Dirt, rock, gravel, topsoil, and/or asphalt hauling
Compensation
Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications.
Pay structure, expected schedule, and availability will be discussed during the interview.
