We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and professional Field Operations Supervisor to join our management team.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can manage multiple security sites, support and hold officers accountable, conduct site inspections, assist with staffing challenges, and help ensure our clients receive consistent, high-quality service.
Position Overview
The Field Operations Supervisor will serve as a key connection between Metro management, our security officers, and our clients. This position requires significant time in the field visiting client locations throughout Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts.
You will be responsible for ensuring officers are properly staffed, on time, in proper uniform, equipped, trained, and following site-specific post orders and Metro Security Services policies.
This is not a desk-only position. The ideal candidate is comfortable traveling between multiple locations, conducting unannounced inspections, addressing problems professionally, and taking ownership of operational issues.
Key ResponsibilitiesField Operations & Site Inspections
- Conduct scheduled and unannounced inspections at client locations
- Verify officers are present, on time, and performing assigned duties
- Inspect uniforms, appearance, and required equipment
- Ensure officers are following site-specific post orders and company policies
- Review patrol activity, reports, and other required documentation
- Identify operational or security concerns and report them to management
- Document inspections and operational issues using company systems
Officer Supervision & Accountability
- Coach, mentor, and support security officers
- Address attendance, uniform, performance, and professionalism concerns
- Provide corrective coaching and recommend additional training when needed
- Escalate serious or repeated issues to management
- Conduct officer evaluations and field performance reviews
- Help maintain a professional, accountable, and positive work environment
Staffing & Call-Out Support
- Assist with call-outs and last-minute staffing needs
- Help locate qualified replacement officers
- Confirm replacement coverage and follow up on open shifts
- Assist with emergency site coverage when authorized and qualified
- Communicate significant staffing issues to management
Training
- Conduct or assist with new officer field training
- Complete site orientations
- Review post orders and site-specific procedures
- Train officers on patrol procedures, reporting requirements, equipment, and client expectations
- Provide refresher and corrective training when necessary
Incident Response
- Respond to significant operational incidents when appropriate
- Support officers during serious incidents and security concerns
- Ensure management is notified according to company procedures
- Ensure required documentation and incident reports are completed
Client Relations
- Maintain a professional presence at client locations
- Conduct periodic client check-ins
- Receive and document client concerns and feedback
- Address routine operational issues within assigned authority
- Escalate significant client concerns to management
Required Qualifications
- Previous security experience required
- Previous supervisory, leadership, or management experience preferred
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable personal transportation
- Ability to travel between multiple client locations
- Comfortable working independently and making sound decisions
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Comfortable using smartphone-based scheduling, reporting, and workforce-management systems
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to handle difficult conversations and hold employees accountable respectfully
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of security experience
- Previous Security Supervisor, Field Supervisor, or Operations experience
- Experience supervising multiple locations or teams
- Experience training security officers
- Experience handling incident reports and investigations
- Scheduling or staffing experience
- Client-service experience
- CPR/First Aid certification
- De-escalation training

Schedule
