Position: Event Security Officer
Location: Downtown Providence, RI
Job Type: Part-Time / Seasonal
Pay: Competitive Hourly Rate
Schedule: Flexible – Days, Evenings, Weekends, and Holidays
What You'll Do
As an Event Security Officer, you will play a critical role in creating a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for guests, staff, vendors, and performers.
Responsibilities include:
- Access control and credential verification
- Crowd management and guest assistance
- Monitoring designated event areas
- Bag checks and security screenings
- Providing directions and customer service to attendees
- Assisting with traffic and pedestrian flow
- Identifying and reporting safety concerns
- Responding to incidents and emergencies as directed
- Working closely with event staff, law enforcement, and emergency personnel
- Maintaining a professional and visible security presence

Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in crowded environments
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Previous security, military, law enforcement, hospitality, or customer service experience is a plus, but not required
