Metro Realty Solutions is looking for a dependable, hands-on General Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. This position supports the upkeep and daily operation of our medical office buildings, helping maintain clean, safe, and professional properties for tenants, patients, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Perform general building repairs, including patching, painting, basic carpentry, ceiling tile replacement, and door hardware repairs.
- Address minor plumbing issues and routine fixture repairs.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks and routine property inspections.
- Respond to tenant maintenance requests professionally and promptly.
- Assist our HVAC and facilities team with maintenance projects.
- Identify and report building issues, safety concerns, and repairs requiring outside contractors.
- Keep tools, supplies, and work areas organized.
- Work carefully around occupied medical offices to minimize disruption.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in building maintenance, property maintenance, construction, or a related trade is preferred but not required.
- Comfortable using common hand and power tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Professional attitude and good communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between properties.
- Ability to perform the essential physical duties of the position, including using ladders, bending, and moving tools and materials, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Compensation and Schedule
Pay will be based on experience and relevant skills. The workday is 7:00 AM-3:30 PM M-F, in person at our medical office properties in Farmington, CT.
