What we are looking for: Metro's Speech Department continues to grow and we are looking for a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist in Nassau County. Strong Clinical Fellow applicants with experience in treating adults and dysphagia are encouraged to apply. The caseload is primarily homecare at the moment, with potential to build up in many of our outpatient clinics located all across Long Island. Caseload demographics include: Aphasia, Dysphagia, Voice, Cognitive Communication Disorders, AAC use, etc.
Metro is looking for a motivated, compassionate, forward-thinking Speech Therapist who excels at assessing patients’ strengths and weaknesses and devising creative but effective treatment plans. Qualifications
Qualifications
- Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of New York or eligible.
- Evaluates a patient's need for speech therapy and develops an appropriate treatment plan.
- Provide appropriate care and treatment to patients based on physician care plan, agency policy and professional standards of care.
- Instructs family members, Home Health Aides, and other caregivers in appropriate speech therapy techniques & HEP
- Mandatory Certifications: First Aid, AED, & CPR Certifications (live course)
