Metro Mattress is seeking an energetic and motivated Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily operations, drive sales, and foster a positive shopping experience at our location in New Hartford, NY. This has been a top performing location for years, so successful high ticket sales experience is a must! We are looking for a strong Assistant Sales Manager to help take it to the next level. In this position you will be on the sales floor closing deals and helping to lead the store towards revenue goals. In this hourly plus commission environment, you won't have a draw to worry about plus you have the ability to control your own income in a warm lead atmosphere. Like a waiter or waitress, the better you are with people, the more you earn. Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a drive to be great will take you far! Duties

• Assist with all aspects of store operations, including driving sales and hitting KPIs
• Work with Store Manager to ensure store is scheduled appropriately and achieving goals
• Oversee store execution, inventory management, and operations
• Foster a welcoming environment by providing exceptional customer service and resolving escalated issues promptly.
• Coordinate deliveries and pick-ups smoothly between customers, sales, and operations
• Utilize strong communication skills to motivate staff and maintain organizational alignment with company goals
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, store policies, and legal regulations at all times

Skills

• Proven management experience in mattress and/or furniture environment with proven sales results
• Strong leadership qualities and positive mindset
• Excellent organizational skills coupled with effective time management to handle multiple priorities seamlessly
• Proficiency in retail math, budgeting, sales management, and retail store operations
• Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, inventory management, and merchandising strategies
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases effectively
• Experience with POS systems, cash handling procedures, cashiering, and store bookkeeping
• Exceptional communication skills including phone etiquette and customer service excellence

Pay: $35,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
