Job Overview:
Metro Masonry is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll and Accounting Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for handling payroll processes, accounts payable and receivable, credit card reconciliations, bank account management, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll systems, accounting procedures, and compliance requirements, with an understanding of Sage 300 CRE or similar software.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Administration:
- Process weekly payroll for employees, including union payroll fringes and deductions.
- Prepare and submit federal, state and union payroll reports.
Accounts Payable:
- Accurately enter invoices into the accounts payable system.
- Ensure timely payment processing and proper record-keeping.
Credit Card Management:
- Record and reconcile company credit card transactions.
- Ensure all expenses are properly categorized and documented.
Accounts Receivable:
- Process incoming payments and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Assist with receivable entries as required.
Bank Account Reconciliation:
- Reconcile bank accounts regularly to ensure accuracy in financial records.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies as needed.
Vehicle and Trailer Registrations:
- Handle the registration and inspection processes for company vehicles and trailers.
- Ensure compliance with local and state regulations.
Compliance:
- Maintain compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and highway regulations.
- Prepare and submit required federal and state DOT reports.
Technology and Tools:
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with Sage 300 CRE accounting software is preferred.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in payroll processing and accounts management.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax reporting and compliance.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Sage 300 CRE or similar accounting software.
- Familiarity with DOT compliance and reporting.
Salary and Benefits:
