Heavy Equipment Technician
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role is ideal for someone ‘hands-on’, who enjoys working with customers, and who has an eagle eye for detail.
In this role you’ll:
- Help as required to the rest of the Detailed Equipment Inspection (DEI)
- Assist the Maintenance team with delivery in the field , as required
- Actively support our commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and safety of your team, co-workers, and customers.
Here’s what you bring:
- High school graduate. College education is a plus.
- Knowledge of - or the desire to learn about - construction equipment (Loaders, Tractors, Excavators and trucks)
- Proficient with computers and good working knowledge/experience using MS Office Suite products (e.g. Word, Excel). Documentation processing experience is an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
- You must be process-oriented and comfortable adhering to company policies and procedures to be successful in this role.
- Strong customer service orientation. You have a natural ease in dealing with customers.
- Excellent organizational skills. You’re the type that leaves no detail unattended.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
- Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and self-directed, and able to work independently, as well as collaboratively. You thrive working as part of a team and pitch-in wherever needed.
- You like to work hard but still have fun on the job.
This job will require you to:
- Have a valid, clean driver’s license
- Work both indoors and outdoors year-round and climb on and off large equipment and trucks
- Work regular overtime, some weekend hours.
- Travel to other sites
