Location: Kansas City, MO; Candidate must be within commuting distance of Kansas CityJob Summary:As the Business Manager at Metro Elevator Kansas City, Inc., you will report directly to the division President. This position will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the company's accounting and financial operations. It requires a strong understanding of financial management, including responsibility for cash, accounts payable and receivable and accurate financial reporting. With a detail-oriented approach, you will ensure that our financial processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with the division's overall objectives, contributing significantly to our operational success and financial health.Employment Status/Expectations:Full TimeJob Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):AccountingManages billing, accounts receivable and accounts payablePrepares and posts receipts, deposits, purchase orders, invoices, refunds, and other standard bookkeeping tasksReconciles general ledger accountsPrepares bank and credit card reconciliationsPerforms month end close proceduresExecutes monthly expense/credit card reports in a timely mannerInputs payroll journal entries and other standard journal entriesPerforms analysis on P&L and customer accountsAdministrativeProvides administrative support to company leadership as well as the mechanicsOversees daily cash management – balances and reportingReviews and processes employee reimbursementsFills out vendor credit applicationsManages fleet vehicle insurance, registration and payments Develops and prepares financial and operations reports from company-specific programsPayrollWorks with Director of Operations on reviewing timecards for mechanicsResponsible for new employee onboardingProcesses weekly payrollManages and maintains monthly employee union benefits and vacationAccurately inputs payroll journal entries in accounting systemQualifications:Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or similar field4 years of experience in accounting/bookkeepingDesired Skills:A solid understanding of accounting/bookkeeping procedures including crediting and debiting appropriate accounts, posting entries to ledger accounts, and reconciling accountsAdvanced Microsoft Office skills (especially Microsoft Excel), with an ability to become familiar with company-specific programs and softwareStrong verbal and written communications skills, especially with customersHas a "positive, can do" attitude with exceptional interpersonal skillsAble to work well under pressure and meet all deadlinesWorks well in a team environment and with upper managementCompensation and Benefits:Salary commensurate with qualificationsHealth, dental and vision insurancePaid time off401k plan with employer matching contributionEqual Opportunity Employer:Metro Elevator is committed to providing reasonable accommodation as an Equal Opportunity Employer to applicants with disabilities.
