What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Superintendent position at Metro Design Build Inc?
About Us:
We’re Metro Design Build Inc., and we’re not your average construction firm. We’re a tight-knit team of creatives, problem-solvers, and builders who live for transforming luxury residential spaces. We work hand-in-hand with clients (many of whom turn into lifelong fans) to bring bold visions to life — blending high-end design with meticulous execution. Our work’s been called stunning, seamless, and best-in-class — and we’d agree.
We operate in Chicago and are growing in Austin and Nashville. Our vibe? Professional without the pretense. We keep things collaborative, transparent, and fun — while delivering projects that genuinely wow.
The Role:
We’re looking for a rock-solid Project Manager who knows their way around high-end residential projects and thrives in the fast-paced, ever-evolving world of design-build. You’ll lead projects from kickoff to closeout — planning, budgeting, coordinating crews, managing clients, and keeping everything running smoothly. Basically, you’re the glue that holds it all together.
This isn’t just a scheduler role — it’s about creating amazing spaces, building strong relationships, and delivering results that make everyone proud to say, “Yeah, we built that.”
What You’ll Do:
Own the Plan: Scope it out, build the schedule, manage the budget, and get the right people in the right places.
Keep Things Moving: Work with designers, trades, vendors, and clients to keep projects flowing and on track.
Be the Point Person: You’re the go-to for updates, problem-solving, and making sure everyone stays in sync.
Lead with Style: Motivate teams, hold standards high, and create an environment where great work happens.
Deliver Quality: Hold the line on craftsmanship, code compliance, and client satisfaction.
Handle the Hiccups: When surprises pop up (and they always do), you’re calm, clear-headed, and two steps ahead.
What You Bring:
Experience managing high-end residential construction or design-build projects
Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and budgets
Buildertrend or similar project management software experience
A calm head under pressure and a get-it-done attitude
Strong communication chops — you’re just as comfortable talking to trades as you are with homeowners
Detail-obsessed but big-picture smart
What You’ll Get:
Competitive salary (based on experience, of course)
Health benefits and 401(k) with a company match
A voice in the room — not just a cog in the machine
Real career growth, plus support for continuing education or certifications
A collaborative team that’s easy to work with, seriously talented, and here to win — together
