What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loan Officer 3 (FXR3) position at Metro Credit Union?
This role is for someone who’s ready to step up.
You’ve already built a solid banking or credit union foundation. Now you want a role where your experience matters, your teammates rely on you, and your work directly helps people improve their lives.
We’re looking for a senior-level universal banker type who is confident with lending, home equity products, complex member needs, and team support. This position plays a key role in the branch and helps guide both members and coworkers.
What you’ll be doing
This is a high-impact, relationship-driven role that blends advanced member service, lending, and internal support.
You will:
- Help members and potential members with accounts, loans, and services in person, by phone, and digitally
- Originate and close consumer loans and home equity / HELOC loans
- Assist members with loan requests, questions, and problem resolution
- Open new accounts and set up services (cards, online banking, EFT, CDs, IRAs)
- Support loan closings and back-office loan/account tasks
- Act as a go-to resource for teammates with complex products and regulations
- Help train and support loan staff
- Perform teller transactions when needed
- Serve as a liaison between members and internal departments
- Maintain accurate records and complete required reporting
- Identify opportunities to recommend helpful financial solutions
This role adapts to the needs of the branch — some days are face-to-face, some are phone or digital, and many are a mix of both.
Why this role matters
You help deliver the Metro experience. Members feel supported, coworkers trust your knowledge, and the branch runs smoother because you’re part of the team.
