The Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) assists the Branch Manager in the daily, successful operations of the branch including personnel administration, operations, security, member service and sales. Serve as a financial consultant to new and existing members; provides problem resolutions; opens member accounts. Participate in sales and service programs including contribution to branch sales goals. The ABM serves as Branch Manager when needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the daily operation of a branch:
Order branch cash; supply cash dispensers and cash recyclers with daily cash
Open and close the branch.
Supervise the daily balancing of the branch and ATM.
Assist with the preparation of weekly staff meetings; hold weekly staff meetings when required.
Approve checks and withdrawals in excess of teller limits.
Partner with Branch Manager in oversight of Branch employees
Assist in creating the branch schedules and assigning work tasks;
Monitor overall branch security.
Provide training and coaching of branch employees.
Assist in resolving routine employee relations problems and assist with performance reviews.
Open consumer and business deposit accounts for members after performing needs assessment to determine best financial solution. Accurately complete all account opening requirements, including obtaining all applicable security clearances and required signatures. Conduct consumer and home equity loan interviews; assist members in the completion of loan applications. Communicate status of loan applications to members within established service standards.
Assist staff in handling member problems, difficult transactions and corrections. Respond to member inquiries and provide information to members relative to Metro Credit Union policies; resolve product and service complaints by determining cause of problem, selecting and explaining the best solution, expediting correction/adjustment and following up to ensure resolution.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of one year of supervisory experience and 2-3 years of banking experience required
Skills/Knowledge
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong math and accounting skills.
Excellent personal and professional leadership skills.
Understanding of banking regulatory matters and procedures for proper operation.
Ability to perform various banking procedures and operations.
Ability to remain professional and composed under pressure.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; COCC experience preferred
