Essential Job Functions
- Plays a key role in supervision of branch by:
- Opening and closing branch
- Creating schedules and managing assigned tasks
- Training and coaching employees
- Resolving service issues to ensure total member satisfaction including determining root cause, selecting, and explaining best solution, expediting correction or adjustment, and following up to ensure resolution.
- Accurately balancing individual work, branch vault cash, recyclers, and automated teller machines (“ATMs”)
- Providing approvals and system overrides for branch transactions in excess of employee limits.
- Monitoring individual and branch contact events. Ensuring closure of assigned contact events within standards.
- Ordering branch cash, suppling staff, ATMs, and recyclers with cash throughout the day
- Scanning, uploading, extracting and archiving check images.
- Processes variety of transactions including check cashing, deposits/withdrawals, loan payments and payoffs, official checks and money orders, cash advances, etc.
- Responds to member inquiries and provides information relative to Mero Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Opens consumer deposit accounts for members after performing needs assessment to determine the best financial solution.
- Contributes to sales and referral program and branch sales goals. Cross sells products by answering inquiries and informing members of new services and product promotions. Makes effective referrals to retail partners.
- Attends retail branch management meetings and sales meetings.
- Reviews all daily work for accuracy including verifying all account opening requirements have been met, including obtaining all applicable security clearances, required signatures, and paperwork.
- Conducts consumer loan interviews; aids members in completion of loan applications including verifying identification, obtaining required signatures, and ensuring approval conditions are met. Communicates loan application status to members.
- Maintains member confidentiality and protects bank operations by keeping member information confidential.
Performs additional duties, as required by management.
- Manages staff including the Sales & Service Representative and Sales & Service Supervisors in the absence of the branch manager.
- Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree in business administration or related field strongly preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of retail customer service experience of which at least 2 years is supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
- Previous banking experience highly preferred.
- Skills/Knowledge/Certifications
- Knowledge of computers, web browsers, and office software products.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work performed.
- Ability to problem solve and work independently.
