Job Title: Accounts Payable Clerk
Reports To: CFO
Location: Sullivan, IL
Compensation: $20 - $25/ hour, based on experience
Job Summary:
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk who will have the opportunity to work with vendors to ensure timely payment as well as to collaborate with vendors and other teams to identify and resolve issues preventing payment. This position includes being able to multi-task and balance workload.
- Review, verify, and process invoices and expense reports
- Match purchase orders, invoices, and packing slips (3-way match)
- Enter and post transactions in the accounting system
- Prepare and process ACH payments, checks, or wire transfers
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain vendor files and ensure accurate records
- Assist with month-end closing tasks
- Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation
- Follow company policies, internal controls, and payment procedures
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be dependable, reliable, and trustworthy
- Friendly and professional with good computer skills.
- 1-3 years of Accounts Payable or general bookkeeping experience
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Quickbooks, SAP, NetSuite, or others)
- Strong Microsoft Excel and data entry skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organization and time-management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
