Metro Aviation, Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Support Aviation Maintenance Technician (EC135/EC145) to work as an integral part of the Metro Team for our operations in the Gulf South Region (Louisiana, Texas)

Job Objective

The Support Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) ensures company aircraft are maintained in a safe and airworthy condition in accordance with the airworthiness standards prescribed by applicable regulations, airworthiness directives and Metro Aviation’s policy and procedure.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA)
Responsible for maintaining a close liaison with the Regional Maintenance Manager, Hangar Manager or Program Lead AMT when assigned to a specific project to provide current status of aircraft and forecast downtime
Perform aircraft maintenance including inspection, modification, maintenance and repair of aircraft, airframe, rotors, propellers, engines and appliances in accordance with the procedures in the MAI General Operations Manual, Approved Aircraft Inspection Program, Manufacturer’s documentation, applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and other approved data sources
Communicate, plan and coordinate with the Hangar Manager or Program Lead AMT the schedule of maintenance for the aircraft considering such factors as workflow, location of equipment, facilities, tools, parts, supplies and job requirements
Provide after-hours maintenance/on-call support for the base(s) as required
Ensure discrepancies are accurately documented and addressed during maintenance and inspections
Take complete ownership and responsibility for each aircraft assigned to inspect, maintain and repair
Maintain the hangar and all work areas to the standards Metro Aviation policy and procedure requires
Prepare and submit materials requests and inventory usage reports as directed. Ship and receive inventory to the base and store, care for an audit base inventory
Maintain company owned local Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
Ensure all necessary aircraft documents and MAI documents are completed and maintained in accordance with applicable 14 CFR Regulations and company policies
Perform inspections on all incoming parts and materials, immediately upon arrival
Ensure parts with a shelf life limit are removed from inventory prior to expiration
Request Secondary Maintenance Checks following any maintenance, preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs or alterations
Ensure all company owned and personal owned calibrated tools are kept up to date on the company calibrated took tracking log for their assigned base or location
Provide prompt after-hours on-call maintenance support, ensuring a response to calls within 15 minutes and arrival at the base within 1 hour, in accordance with Metro Aviation’s standards and initial INDOC/OJT training
Perform the duties and functions of the Field Based AMT, or the functions of the Hangar Based AMT, when needed
Perform other duties as assigned

Essential Functions

Effective oral and written communication skills
Possess sound judgment and objectivity in decision-making
Proficient in aircraft maintenance, inspection, and repair
A thorough knowledge of FARS, the General Operations Manual, Operations Specifications, and other pertinent information
Extensive knowledge of all aircraft mechanical systems functions and interactions
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Must possess a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
Inspection Authorization and/or FAR 135 experience a plus
Must possess a minimum of three (3) years turbine rotorcraft or airplane experience

Physical Demands
Walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, kneeling, squatting for extended periods of time
Climbing heights on various equipment
Lifting up to 50 or more pounds
Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (High Visibility clothing, Ear protection, safety glasses) when required
Work Environment
Indoor/Outdoor environment with potential extreme hot and cold temperatures
Exposure to hazardous chemicals is possible
Moderate to loud noise level
Driving a company vehicle, a personal vehicle for company use, or other equipment
Work Status, Schedule, & Travel
Full-time, 2080 hours
Schedule 9 days on and 5 days off
Provide after-hours maintenance on-call support in accordance with assigned schedule/rotation
Overtime necessary depending on workload
Responsible for AOG events
This position requires 100% travel, including weekends and holidays, overnight travel is expected
