Job Objective
The Aviation Mechanical Drafter/Designer is responsible for creating documentation to support production. Documentation includes CAD Models, assembly detail drawings, component detail drawings, work instructions, and production tooling.
Essential Functions
- Design and draft mechanical components for aircraft systems
- Create detailed drawings and schematics using CAD software
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure designs meet specifications
- Conduct research to stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements
- Review and revise designs based on feedback from team members and clients
- Ensure designs comply with industry regulations and safety standards
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA)
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Proven capability of self-checking for accuracy of work
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly self-motivated to work diligently to achieve personal and company goals in a team environment
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in aviation mechanical drafting and design
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
- Knowledge of aviation regulations and safety standards
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Physical Demands
- Prolonged sitting and computer work
Work Environment
- Temperature-controlled office
- Occasional outdoor-type environment with potential extreme cold and hot temperatures as well as moderately loud machine noise
Work Status, Schedule, & Travel
- Full-time
- Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
- No travel required
