OVERVIEW
The Director of Clinical Services (DCS) is a key clinical leader responsible for shaping the therapeutic vision, culture, and daily operations of all clinical programming across MARR’s levels of care. This leader ensures the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed, evidence-based treatment while developing and supporting a strong clinical team.
The DCS oversees clinical operations, compliance, documentation standards, and interdisciplinary coordination, playing a central role in staff leadership, program development, and quality improvement.

Clinical Leadership & Program Direction
- Oversee all clinical services within assigned programs, ensuring evidence-based treatment and strong clinical outcomes.
- Guide treatment planning, case reviews, and therapeutic interventions to ensure individualized care.
- Ensure programming reflects trauma-informed, person-centered, and recovery-oriented clinical practices.
Team Leadership & Staff Development
- Lead and mentor therapists, counselors, case managers, and clinical support staff.
- Build a collaborative, accountable, and supportive clinical culture.
- Provide supervision of clinical processes, training, performance development, and ongoing professional growth.
Integrated & Collaborative Care
- Partner closely with medical, psychiatric, and support departments to deliver coordinated dual-diagnosis care.
- Promote consistent communication, alignment, and integrated treatment planning across disciplines.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations, Joint Commission standards, payer requirements, and internal policies.
- Lead documentation audits, workflow improvements, and performance monitoring.
- Manage clinical risk, critical incident reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
Program Development & Resource Stewardship
- Participate in strategic planning, staffing design, budgeting, and program expansion efforts.
- Support initiatives that improve client experience, staff engagement, and treatment efficacy.
- Help strengthen community partnerships and expand access to recovery services.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Licensure
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
- Active independent clinical license (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Psychologist) required.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years clinical experience in substance use and/or mental health treatment.
- Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Experience working in PHP, IOP, residential, or inpatient behavioral health strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices (CBT, MI, DBT, trauma-informed care, etc.).
- Demonstrated leadership grounded in emotional intelligence, accountability, and collaboration.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Proficiency with EHR systems and clinical documentation standards.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Full-time, on-site leadership role within a dynamic clinical setting.
- On-call responsibilities in support of 24/7 program operations.
