Role Summary:
The Talend Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, monitoring, and support of the Talend Data Integration platform. This role ensures platform stability, security, performance, and availability across development, test, and production environments, while supporting data engineering and integration teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Platform Administration:
Install, configure, and maintain Talend Studio, TAC (Talend Administration Center), and Job Servers.
Manage Talend environments (DEV / QA / PRE‑PROD / PROD) and promote jobs across environments.
Perform upgrades, patches, and hotfixes for Talend components.
Manage Talend licensing and version compatibility.
Operational Support:
Monitor Talend job execution, scheduling, and performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve job failures, runtime issues, and platform errors.
Support incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and production issues.
Ensure high availability and stability of the Talend platform.
Coordinate with infrastructure, OS, and database teams for platform issues.
Security & Access Management:
Configure and manage users, roles, and permissions within Talend.
Enforce security standards including authentication, authorization, and credential handling.
Integrate Talend with SSO / LDAP where applicable.
Ensure secrets and credentials are managed securely (vaults, CyberArk, etc.).
Scheduling & Deployment:
Manage job scheduling and orchestration using Talend TAC.
Support CI/CD pipelines for Talend job deployments.
Coordinate releases and deployments with Data Engineering teams.
Maintain rollback and recovery procedures.
Performance, Monitoring & Optimization:
Tune Talend job execution and Job Server performance.
Monitor resource utilization (CPU, memory, disk) on Talend servers.
Proactively identify capacity or performance bottlenecks.
Implement alerting and logging best practices.
Documentation & Governance:
Maintain operational runbooks, SOPs, and platform documentation.
Define and enforce Talend administration standards and best practices.
Support audits and compliance activities.
Participate in architecture and design reviews as needed.
Collaboration & Support:
Work closely with:
Data Engineering teams
Platform Engineering
Infrastructure & Security teams
Provide guidance on Talend best practices and standards.
Support onboarding and KT for new Talend users/admins.
Required Skills & Experience:
Technical Skills:
Strong experience administering Talend Data Integration (DI) environments.
Hands‑on knowledge of:
Talend Administration Center (TAC)
Talend Job Servers
Strong Linux/Unix administration skills.
Experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.).
Understanding of networking, firewalls, TLS, and security concepts.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and deployment automation.
