What You’ll Do
The Material Drafting Coordinator will be primarily responsible for providing the AutoCAD drawings for Production and Sales teams for the Ferndale Manufacturing business and solid wood drawings for Metrie as a whole. This role will support the business through a variety of mill service activities such as creating machine work instructions, and production targets. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and maintaining positive customer relationships.
This position is a key individual contributor to the Manufacturing team, focused on providing support to its main customers, the Production and Sales teams.
Responsibilities
Provide timely and accurate AutoCAD support for new profile creations of solid wood mouldings.
Update Moulder Work Instruction in SAP to ensure accurate information.
Create “prep” and resaw drawings for new materials and update department processes.
Manage the new material creation process in Ferndale to ensure manufacturing success.
Coordinate ordering of templates for new Ferndale profiles.
Liaise with the sales department, tooling technicians, and production team as needed to verify accuracy of work.
Managing the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Program (SWPPP) for Ferndale
Work closely with the Sales and Production teams to satisfy customer due dates.
Deliver a quality customer experience that is in line with the values of the company
Effectively represent Metrie’s interests when dealing with customers, the community, and employees.
Qualifications
3 years of AutoCAD and/or wood mould tooling design experience
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Previous wood manufacturing and moulding experience is an asset
A highly detailed and organized individual with strong critical thinking skills.
Handle a variety of activities, and multiple projects occurring simultaneously.
Have a sense of urgency for achieving goals in a fast-paced environment.
Prior SAP experience is an asset.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Enthusiastic and engaged team player with a collaborative approach
Focused team building approach; can inspire, motivate, and engage with internal and external customers.
Understanding of the building industry and construction practices is preferred.

In adherence to the principle of pay transparency, we are pleased to disclose the base pay for this full-time position at Metrie. The base pay range for this role is set at 53,000.00−70,000.00. It is important to note that this position may also qualify for discretionary bonuses or commission payments. The specific base pay within the range will be contingent upon an individual's skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location. Furthermore, it is essential to highlight that our remuneration ranges are established based on the role, level, and location.
