Senior Acquisition SpecialistAbout the RoleMetrics is seeking a Senior Acquisition Specialist to support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Office of Acquisition Management (OAQ). We've bid on this effort and are waiting to hear back. This role supports high-visibility, mission-critical procurement activities in a fast-paced federal law enforcement environment.This is a hands-on acquisition role. You will support Contracting Officers directly, draft FAR-compliant documentation, manage multiple acquisition actions concurrently, and deliver work that is ready for review, signature, and audit.If you’ve spent years inside federal contracting offices doing the real work—and you can step in on day one—this role is for you.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide cradle-to-grave acquisition support for federal procurement actionsSupport acquisition planning, including requirements refinement, market research, and milestone developmentDraft and support RFQs, RFPs, IFBs, acquisition plans, IGCEs, JOFOCs, D&Fs, and evaluation documentationSupport source selection activities, including evaluator coordination and consensus documentationPrepare award documentation, post-award notices, and contract file documentationSupport contract administration, including modifications, option exercises, and closeout activitiesMaintain audit-ready contract files in PRISM and SharePointValidate contract data in SAM.gov and FPDSCoordinate closely with Contracting Officers, CORs, legal counsel, and program officesMentor junior acquisition staff and support surge requirements as neededRequired Qualifications10 years of federal acquisition experience supporting contracting officesDemonstrated experience with FAR-based acquisition execution, including FAR Parts 6, 8, 12, 13, 15, 16, and 17Hands-on experience drafting acquisition documentation (not advisory-only roles)Experience supporting high-volume, high-visibility procurement environmentsProficiency with PRISM (strongly preferred)Experience with SAM.gov, FPDS, and SharePoint-based contract file managementAbility to work independently and deliver clean, defensible work productsBachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience substitution)Preferred QualificationsFAC-C Level II or III, DAWIA Level II or III, or equivalentPrior experience supporting DHS, ICE, DOJ, VA, or DoD acquisition officesExperience supporting law enforcement, security, or operational mission procurementsExperience mentoring or leading junior acquisition staffWhat Success Looks LikeAcquisition actions move forward without rework or delaysDocumentation stands up to audit, legal review, and oversightContracting Officers trust your drafts and recommendationsYou can absorb shifting priorities without losing control of deadlinesCompany DescriptionProviding quality government consulting in today's resource constrained environment, Metrics LLC balances proven best practices with innovative approaches.
