We are seeking a Transmission CAD Designer to support the planning, design, and documentation of electrical transmission infrastructure projects. This position will play a key role in producing and maintaining technical drawings, engineering records, and mapping data while working closely with engineering and project teams.
The successful candidate will contribute to a variety of transmission-related projects and help ensure the accuracy and organization of engineering documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and update technical drawings, layouts, and design documentation for transmission-related projects
- Maintain engineering records, drawing archives, and document management systems
- Support the creation and upkeep of mapping and asset data within company systems
- Assist engineering teams with drafting revisions, design updates, and project documentation requirements
- Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure design information remains current and accurate
- Support the development and maintenance of engineering standards, templates, and drafting procedures
- Organize project information and assist with technical reporting and record management
- Provide drafting and design support across transmission and related utility infrastructure projects
Requirements
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related field
- 2 years of experience in CAD drafting or technical design
- Proficiency with AutoCAD or comparable drafting software
- Experience managing technical drawings, records, and project documentation
- Familiarity with utility, infrastructure, or industrial projects preferred
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative team environment
- Willingness to travel occasionally as required
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to transmission, substation, or power delivery projects
- Experience with GIS, mapping platforms, or asset management systems
- Understanding of engineering drawing standards and drafting best practices
Salary : $65,000 - $95,000
