Overview
A leading multidisciplinary consulting firm is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to support a diverse portfolio of projects across commercial, residential, and institutional sectors. This role involves both new design and structural rehabilitation, with opportunities to contribute to complex and technically challenging work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural design and analysis for new and existing buildings
- Perform calculations for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems
- Develop construction documents, drawings, and specifications
- Conduct site inspections, condition assessments, and field investigations
- Support structural rehabilitation and restoration projects
- Collaborate with architects, consultants, and internal teams
- Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or working toward licensure
- 6 years of relevant structural engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of US building codes and standards (IBC, ASCE, ACI, etc.)
- Experience with structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, RISA)
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience with structural rehabilitation or adaptive reuse
- Exposure to façade support systems or building envelope coordination
- Forensic investigation or condition assessment experience (a plus)
- Experience working on mid- to high-rise structures
