Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Food & Beverage - Tulsa, OK (Open to Relocators)
Metric Geo is seeking a Lead or Senior Mechanical System Design Engineer for a fast-growing engineering and project management firm. This role offers the opportunity to lead mechanical design initiatives for industrial and food manufacturing facilities, with a focus on complex utility, plumbing, and HVAC systems. The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership and mentoring experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical engineering design for utility, plumbing, HVAC, and process systems, particularly in food & beverage or industrial facilities
- Design and layout high- and low-pressure water, chilled water, steam, condensate, thermal fluid, compressed air, vacuum, and other utility systems
- Develop calculations, technical drawings (AutoCAD 2D), and 3D models (Revit) of mechanical systems
- Evaluate field conditions, collect data, and ensure design meets operational requirements
- Mentor and guide other mechanical engineers within the team
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and cross-disciplinary engineers to achieve project objectives
- Ensure projects meet budgets, schedules, and quality standards
- Continuously improve processes through feedback and best practices
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- 10–20 years of facility mechanical system design and engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of ASME codes, USDA/FDA/OSHA/ASHRAE standards, and industry best practices
- Proven ability to interpret specifications and technical documentation with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated work ethic and commitment to quality
