Roadway Group Leader
Indianapolis, IN (hybrid)
A highly respected, long-established engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced Engineering Project Manager to join its growing Indianapolis team. You’ll manage projects from pursuit through delivery, lead multidisciplinary teams, and serve as a trusted partner to public-sector clients on complex engineering assignments.
What You’ll Do
- Manage projects through the full lifecycle: scope development, proposals, contracting, design, and delivery
- Serve as the primary client liaison, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high technical standard
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including subconsultants
- Oversee budgets, schedules, risk, and contract compliance
- Perform and review technical work including design, calculations, reports, and specifications
- Implement structured project delivery and management plans
- Support business development efforts, including pursuits, proposals, and interviews
- Mentor and develop project staff; support recruitment and succession planning
- Collaborate with internal leadership and cross-functional teams to resolve design and delivery challenges
Project Scale
- Typically manages projects ranging from sub-$1M to $5M,
- May serve as a discipline lead or PM on larger, complex programs
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 10 years of relevant engineering experience
- At least 2 years of project management experience
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage client-facing projects

Preferred

- 12 years of industry experience
