Project Quality Manager – Heavy Civil Construction

About the Role
The Project Quality Manager will ensure project execution aligns with contract requirements, technical specifications, and internal quality protocols. You’ll partner closely with operations teams, subcontractors, testing agencies, and clients — leading corrective and preventive actions and driving accountability across the project lifecycle.
You may support a single flagship project or multiple projects within the region, depending on workload and scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Support development and implementation of Project Quality Plans in alignment with company QMS and project requirements.
- Lead reporting and resolution of non-conformances, including NCRs and deficiencies.
- Conduct pre-activity meetings and quality walks to identify and mitigate risks before work begins.
- Review work plans, submittals, and supporting documentation to verify quality requirements are incorporated.
- Execute internal audits to validate compliance with QMS and project specifications.
- Coordinate and monitor third-party inspection and testing teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure quality records are complete and audit-ready.
- Train field and project teams on applicable QMS processes, tools, and documentation requirements.
- Build strong client relationships through transparent communication and professional representation.
- Track and report quality KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives across the project team.
- Work collaboratively with subcontractors and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
- 2–5 years of quality, technical, or construction experience (heavy civil experience preferred).
- Familiarity with construction standards/specifications such as USACE, DOT, ASTM, ACI, AASHTO (preferred).
- Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to identify deficiencies and drive corrective actions.
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced and evolving construction environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, SharePoint, and project management tools.
- Valid driver’s license and clean MVR.
