Lead Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Lead or Senior Mechanical System Design Engineer to join a fast-growing engineering and project management firm specializing in industrial, energy, and food processing facilities.

This is a key technical leadership role based in Tulsa, OK where you will take ownership of mechanical system design while guiding project execution across complex industrial environments.

With a strong pipeline of work across manufacturing, food processing, oil & gas, and energy sectors, this is an opportunity to step into a high-impact engineering role with leadership visibility and long-term growth potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide mechanical system engineering and design for HVAC, plumbing, utility, and process systems in industrial and manufacturing facilities (food & beverage experience preferred)

• Design and size compressed air, steam, pumps, process heating, high/low-pressure water, chilled water, wastewater, vacuum, and thermal fluid systems

• Develop engineering calculations, system layouts, and designs using AutoCAD 2D and Revit 3D

• Lead and mentor mechanical engineering team members, supporting technical development and project delivery

• Conduct field evaluations and gather site information (15–20% travel required)

• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal engineering teams to ensure successful project execution

• Deliver work within agreed schedules, budgets, and quality standards while continuously improving processes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

• Active PE license in Mechanical Engineering required

• 10–20 years of experience in facility mechanical system design (HVAC, plumbing, and utilities)

• Strong knowledge of ASME codes and USDA, FDA, OSHA, and ASHRAE standards

• Proficiency in system design, specifications, and engineering documentation

• Strong AutoCAD and Revit experience preferred

• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to engineering quality
