Overview
Metric Geo are currently seeking an experienced Civil Foreman to lead asphalt grading operations supporting paving projects. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for directing crews, operating grading equipment, and ensuring subgrade surfaces meet required specifications for asphalt placement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise grading crew, including daily task assignment and production oversight
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards
- Operate and oversee grading equipment to achieve correct slope, grade, and surface conditions
- Coordinate with Project Managers and field teams to maintain schedule and productivity
- Train and mentor crew members on safety and best practices
- Manage materials, equipment, and resources for optimal field efficiency
- Enforce compliance with safety regulations and project requirements
- Resolve field issues and adjust work plans as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
- 5 years of experience in asphalt grading / fine grading for paving operations
- Previous foreman or crew leadership experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of grading, earthwork, and paving preparation
- Ability to lead crews in a fast-paced field environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
