Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI)
Western Pennsylvania | PennDOT / Turnpike Projects
A well-established engineering and construction services firm is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors (TCI) and Managers (TCI-M) to support roadway, highway, and bridge projects across Western Pennsylvania.

What You’ll Do
- Inspect and monitor daily construction activities on-site
- Ensure contractor compliance with plans, specs, and safety standards
- Maintain daily reports, photos, quantities, and documentation
- Review shop drawings and contractor submittals
- Track materials, quantities, and support progress payments
- Monitor erosion control and stormwater systems (BMPs)
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project teams
- Attend site meetings and communicate project updates
Work Environment
- Field-based role on active construction sites
- Exposure to weather conditions (hot/cold) and live traffic environments
- PPE required at all times
- Travel between project sites as needed
What You’ll Need
- High school diploma or GED (degree in civil/construction preferred)
- Basic math skills (quantities, measurements, etc.)
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Comfortable using iPads and field documentation tools
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong interest in building a career in transportation construction
Preferred Certifications (Not Required)
- NICET (Levels I–IV)
- ACI Concrete Field Technician
- NECEPT (Concrete / Asphalt)
- PennDOT certifications (concrete, guiderail, etc.)
- 2 years of transportation construction experience
- (or entry-level candidates with PennDOT exposure considered)
