What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) - Land Development and Infrastructure position at Metric Engineering?
Metric is expanding, and we’re looking for a motivated Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2 years of experience to join our Georgetown office and support a growing portfolio of land development and public facilities and infrastructure projects.

What You’ll Do
- Assist in the design of land/site development and public facility and infrastructure projects, including grading, drainage, and utility systems
- Prepare construction documents, plans, and technical specifications
- Perform stormwater management, hydrology/hydraulic calculations, and site layout design
- Support permitting efforts with local and state agencies
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders
- Participate in field visits, site inspections, and project meetings
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited institution
- EIT certification required (or actively pursuing)
- 2 years of experience in land development, site design, or infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred) and other design tools
- Familiarity with local Austin / Central Texas design standards and permitting processes is a plus
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Interest in pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
