We are seeking an Emerging Technologies Engineer to support research, prototyping, and technical development across RF, cyber, and electromagnetic domains. This role is ideal for a motivated engineer or technical specialist who is eager to learn, solve challenging problems, and contribute to innovative solutions at the intersection of RF, cybersecurity, and advanced sensing.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.

Candidate must be able to travel up to 25%

Work Environment Primarily an office, lab, or field-testing environment. May require extended periods working with computers and prototype systems.

We are seeking an Emerging Technologies Engineer to support research, prototyping, and technical development across RF, cyber, and electromagnetic domains. This role is ideal for a motivated engineer or technical specialist who is eager to learn, solve challenging problems, and contribute to innovative solutions at the intersection of RF, cybersecurity, and advanced sensing.
Role And Responsibilities
- Support ideation and prototyping efforts by advising on system design, architecture, and integration.
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of systems related to RF sensing, cyber-physical systems, and electromagnetic spectrum technologies.
- Contribute to research and prototyping efforts in areas such as software-defined radios (SDRs), spectrum operations, and electronic warfare support.
- Perform data analysis, signal processing, and systems integration under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Investigate and evaluate the applicability of emerging technologies including AI/ML, quantum sensing, and autonomous systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including RF engineers, software developers, and cybersecurity professionals.
- Participate in laboratory experiments and field testing to validate concepts and assess system performance.
- Assist in documenting technical findings and preparing materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support proposal development and technical writing for research and development projects as needed.
- Engage with customer groups to understand capability gaps and operational needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent level of professional/ military experience)
- 10 years of hands-on experience in defense solutions prototyping and/ or RF, cyber , or electromagnetic research and development.
- Expertise in one or more of the following:
- RF systems design, spectrum operations, or radar engineering
- Electronic warfare (EW) and electromagnetic spectrum operations (EMSO),
- Cybersecurity, network defense, and cyber-physical systems
- Rapid prototyping in support of defense technology solutions
- Deep familiarity with commercial & defense use of the RF environment
- Experience working with software-defined radios (SDRs) and RF test equipment.
- Strong understanding of C5ISR concepts of employment in the operational environment
- Ability to conceptualize, propose, and execute complex R&D efforts.
- Active security clearance or ability to obtain one .
- Experience participating in multi-disciplinary teams and R&D programs.
- Exposure to or coursework in AI/ML, cyber-physical systems, or electronic warfare.
- Background in DARPA, DoD, or intelligence community projects.
- Experience with high-power RF, directed energy, or quantum sensing.
- Familiarity with the design, development, and production of unmanned systems platforms and technology.
- Interest in exploring new technologies and willingness to learn in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
- Proven ability to conduct technical analysis and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
