The Opportunity

As an Early Career Technologist, you will contribute to the development and support of software applications and platforms that help people build a more confident future. This is an ideal opportunity for new college graduates and early-career technologists passionate about learning and building scalable, secure, and intelligent solutions. You’ll work in a collaborative, agile environment and gain exposure to modern software engineering practices and AI-enabling technologies.

How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)

  • Support the design, development, testing, and deployment of full stack software applications (UI, API, Data) while leveraging AI tools.
  • Participate in peer reviews of code, solution designs, and configurations.
  • Assist in gathering and refining product requirements and user stories.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify innovative solutions.
  • Contribute to the integration of AI capabilities into applications (e.g., GenAI APIs, ML models).

What You Will Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)

  • A bachelor's degree with exposure to technology, software development, AI/ML, or other technical areas.
  • Internship or project experience in software development or AI/ML.
  • Experience in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or any other modern language).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated proficiency in technology as part of a personal, academic, or professional project.
  • Strong academic record or demonstrated extracurricular success (research, projects) in any field
  • Exposure to AI/ML and other technology concepts such as:
    • Prompt engineering and LLM APIs (e.g., Azure OpenAI)
    • Responsive UI/UX development
    • Relational vs. NoSQL databases
  • Exposure to cloud-native application development and deployment on platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new skills to deliver high quality software as evidenced by academic or project experience.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.


Candidate must be currently authorized to work in the United States and must not require MetLife sponsorship or support for an immigration-related employment benefit (e.g., work permit or temporary work visa) in any capacity now or in the future.
Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is 65,000 - 85,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
