TITLE: High School Technical Theater Director
SUMMARY: The Methuen Public Schools seeks a Technical Theater Director for Methuen High School. This position is part-time and work will take place outside of school hours. The Technical Theater Director will oversee the technical components and work closely with the Theater Director to put on one fall and one spring theatrical production with a cast and crew comprised of Methuen High School Students. In addition, the Technical Theater Director will oversee lighting and sound for outside rentals of the Methuen High School auditorium.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and experience in technical theater or a related field.
- Experience working with high school students, teaching experience preferred.
- Knowledge of stage production, including lighting design and implementation and scenic construction.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the technical components of a fall and spring theatrical production with high school students at Methuen High School.
- Provide oversight and student support, including managing equipment and materials, to fabricate sets, design and implement lighting, and construct and manage props and costumes.
- Train and oversee student stage crew members in technical and safety procedures.
- Manage lighting and sound for high school auditorium rentals.
STIPEND:
$1500 for fall theater production.
$1500 for spring theater production.
$18/hour for work performed in service of auditorium rentals.
Total compensation shall not exceed $7200 for the fiscal year.
