POSITION SUMMARY: An Evaluation Team Facilitator, is responsible for overseeing the evaluation, referral, and IEP (individualized education program) development for students with special needs. They are responsible for ensuring that students receive the appropriate services and support, and that assessments, reports, and service delivery are of the highest quality.DUTIES, ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Process Evaluations: Following receipt of consent, notify evaluators of testing due, timeline, meeting dates.Distribute evaluation reports two days before meeting.Schedule and chair all initial and re-evaluation IEP meetings.Compile and finalize IEPs and related paperwork.Obtain all required signatures and send copies to parent/guardian.Maintain all IEP records in Infinite Campus..Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by law, district policies and administrative regulations to ensure compliance. Communication: Collaborate with central SPED office regarding receipt of signed consents and IEPs including partial and complete rejections..Notify building staff of pertinent deadlines and dates.Provide district contact information to parents or outside agencies.Arrange for interpreters and translation of documents.Educate staff with regard to procedures and policies.Communicating with parents/guardians about team meetings, questions regarding assessments, and any follow-up issue or concerns they may haveAvailable to answer questions or communicate with parents/guardians during contractual hoursAct as a liaison and support for staff to fully and appropriately implement IEP Provide all staff with appropriate notification of special education students in their classrooms Problem Resolution: Act as a resource to staff regarding special education and the implementation of IEPS.Making final determinations on what to recommend in the Educational Program in the event of disagreement among team members Ensure compliance at the building level with all 603 CMR 28.00 regulationsSchool Based: Perform related duties as required by the building Principal and the Special Education AdministratorRepresenting Methuen Public Schools vision and mission Collaborate with all staff in the best interest of studentQUALIFICATIONS: Experience and holds a valid license as a Special Education Teacher, Related Service Provider, or School Psychologist At least five years of experience as a special education teacher, related service provider or school psychologistKnowledge of special education laws, regulations, and eligibility criteriaKnowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)Strong written and verbal communication skills and impeccable interpersonal skills are a must.Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment required REPORTS TO AND SUPERVISED BY: Building Special Education Administrator/Supervising Principal.
