ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re hiring an In-House Pre-Owned Vehicle Acquisition Specialist to source pre-owned inventory for the entire Best Automotive Group. This is an in-house desk role — you do not need to travel to physical auctions. You’ll spend your day working online auction platforms, running numbers, chasing trades and private-party leads, and acquiring the right cars at the right money for our stores.
Compensation: $50,000–$75,000 per year, based on experience. This is a full-time salaried in-house seat with a full benefits package — no commission-only guesswork, no auction travel required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Source used inventory across online auction platforms — Manheim / Simulcast, ADESA, OVE, ACV, SmartAuction, and similar
- Buy to the right money for each store: Methuen CDJR, Best Ford Nashua, and other Best Automotive Group locations
- Work KBB Instant Cash Offer, trade-in appraisals, private-party leads, and service-drive equity opportunities
- Run comps (vAuto / Firstlook / MMR / KBB) and build accurate cost-to-market bids on every unit
- Confirm condition, options, and history (Carfax / AutoCheck) before bidding
- Coordinate transport, arbitration, and post-sale inspections
- Communicate with each store’s GM / Used Car Manager on stocking needs, mix, and price points
- Maintain clean records of every purchase — pipeline, close ratio, cost, and eventual gross performance
- Hit and exceed monthly purchase volume targets across the group
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior pre-owned vehicle acquisition, wholesale buyer, or Used Car Manager experience strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of Manheim / ADESA / online auction platforms
- Familiarity with vAuto, Firstlook, MMR, Black Book, KBB, and Carfax / AutoCheck
- Strong number sense — able to run cost-to-market and reconditioning math quickly and accurately
- Highly self-motivated — this is a desk seat that runs on hustle, not clock-watching
- Ability to work with multiple General Managers and Used Car Managers across brands
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working entirely in-house — no auction travel required
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
