Position Overview
Methods Machine Tools, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Machine Production Assembler based at our corporate headquarters in Sudbury, Massachusetts. The Machine Production Assembler is responsible for assembling high-precision mechanical and electrical components used in CNC milling and turning machines. The ideal candidate has a strong background in electromechanical assembly, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work with tight tolerances and complex schematics in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Daily responsibilities will require collaboration with team members from production and other departments to install equipment effectively and in a repeatable manner. This position may be required to work overtime to support meeting production requirements. This position may also be asked to occasionally visit local customer sites to support field service work.

KEY Responsibilities
Electrical Assembly
- Install and route wiring harnesses, control panels, terminal blocks, and electrical enclosures.
- Connect and terminate wiring for motors, sensors, encoders, and control systems following wiring schematics and diagrams.
- Perform continuity testing and insulation resistance checks to verify proper electrical connections.
- Assemble and mount CNC control units (such as Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi) into machine cabinets and enclosures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Follow detailed work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality checklists.
- Inspect completed assemblies to ensure they meet company and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
- Work closely with engineering, quality control, and manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures related to mechanical and electrical assembly.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certificate or associate degree in electronics, mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in precision mechanical or electrical assembly (CNC or industrial equipment preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with multimeters, torque tools, calipers, and micrometers.
- Basic understanding of CNC machine operation and components is a plus.
- Proficiency with standard hand tools and electrical crimping, soldering, and stripping techniques.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Approximately 25% of the time
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Stand or sit for extended periods.
- Perform repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity.
- Occasional bending, kneeling, and reaching.
