Description
Methodist University invites applicants for a full-time, 12-month, visiting, non-tenure track, one-year, renewable appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position begins January 1, 2026. Previous teaching experience in a Physician Assistant program is strongly recommended. Full-time faculty members are required to maintain practice skills and are given one day each week to engage in clinical practice. Salary is commensurate with the level of education as well as professional and academic experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide student instruction in the didactic and clinical phases of the program.
- Teach and assist in labs as needed
- Participate in the evaluation of student performance throughout the didactic and clinical phases of the program
- Assist with the remediation process of students in both the didactic and clinical phases of the program
- Participate in the selection of applicants for admission to the PA program
- Serve as a student academic advisor as assigned by the program director
- Actively participate in designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the curriculum
- Participate in the evaluation of the program
- Other duties as assigned by the program director

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications for this position include:
- Master’s degree, a minimum of three years of clinical practice as a physician assistant with eligibility for unrestricted licensure to practice in North Carolina, and current certification by the NCCPA.
