What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Tech, Full-Time position at Methodist Hospital for Surgery?
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
This maintenance tech is responsible for assisting in preventive maintenance, reporting documentation of the hospital in order to provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors. There is no remote option for this position.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of one year of experience in building mechanical equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Some college education preferred
- Ability to read, write and follow safety directions as required.
- Painting and minor maintenance work experience preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Makes minor mechanical, electrical and plumbing and painting repairs as requested
- Maintenance and beautification of facility and grounds.
- Conducts scheduled inspections and maintenance throughout the facility.
- Maintains and tests the emergency power system to ensure availability of power to all entrances, exits, fire detection alarms and extinguishing equipment, and life support systems.
- Maintains all essential equipment (e.g., boiler room equipment, nursing unit/medication, etc.) in a safe operating condition
- Must be able to work day shift (8:00A – 5:00P), weekends, and on-call, as scheduled.
- Remains flexible for other duties and special projects assigned.
