Job Summary And Qualifications
General Statement of Duties: Responsible for obtaining appropriate patient referral information and coordinating patient appointment scheduling for all providers, including, but not limited to’ physicians, advanced practice nurses and clinic nursing staff.
Essential Job Functions:
- Initiates the collection of referral information, medical records and insurance cards and enters into Financial database.
- Ensures that preauthorizations and precertifications are obtained on clinic visits and inpatient admissions.
- Collaborates with the Charge Nurse to maintain the clinic schedule.
- Coordinates second visits with staff members and creates schedules for pretests and second visits.
- Displays excellent customer service skills to internal and external customers.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent education required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years experience in a medical office setting.
