Duties
- Develop and implement engaging curriculum plans that promote literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and social development aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Create a warm, welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and positive behavior management.
- Facilitate age-specific activities for toddlers and preschoolers that support developmental milestones in areas such as language acquisition, motor skills, and emotional regulation.
- Collaborate with families to discuss progress, address concerns related to child welfare, and support individualized learning plans including special education or early intervention strategies.
- Manage classroom routines efficiently while maintaining safety protocols and ensuring compliance with childcare regulations.
- Use classroom management techniques to foster respectful behavior and promote a positive learning atmosphere.
- Document children's progress through observations and assessments; prepare reports for parent-teacher conferences and standardized testing when applicable.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in a daycare or preschool setting; classroom experience preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories, behavior management strategies, and early intervention practices.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
- Ability to develop creative lesson plans that incorporate Montessori methods or other educational philosophies like literacy education or STEM activities.
- Certification in early childhood education or related fields is highly desirable; coursework in special education or toddler care is a plus.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and childcare best practices to ensure a safe, inclusive environment.
