In addition, Method IP advises on copyright strategies to avoid inadvertent infringement, safeguard product launches from grey market knock-offs, and recognize key creative contributors.

Entry-Level Contract Associate – Intellectual Property Law

Method IP is seeking an entry-level Contract Associate to support our intellectual property practice. This is a hybrid contract role with an expected schedule of 20–40 hours per week, compensated at $35–$75 per hour depending on experience.

The role is intended for a recent law graduate or newly licensed attorney interested in gaining practical experience in trademark and intellectual property law. The position will begin as a three-month contract role, with the possibility of transitioning into a full-time position.

Responsibilities may include:

• Conducting trademark searches and clearance analysis
• Assisting with trademark application preparation and prosecution
• Drafting office action responses, cease-and-desist letters, and client communications
• Supporting trademark policing and enforcement projects
• Performing legal research, analysis, and strategy work
• Reviewing dockets, deadlines, and matter status
• Assisting with client intake and matter organization
• Supporting patent, copyright, and general IP-related projects as needed

Qualifications:

• Recent law graduate or newly licensed attorney
• Solid academic performance
• Interest in trademark, patent, copyright, or intellectual property law
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Careful attention to detail
• Ability to manage deadlines and communicate clearly
• Prior IP coursework, clinic experience, or trademark experience is helpful but not required

Position Details:

• Rate: $35–$75 per hour, depending on experience
• Schedule: 20–40 hours per week
• Term: Three-month contract position
