Position Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated, full-time EH&S Leader to join our plant operations team in Conway, SC. This person will oversee the Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HS&EQ) functions at the site and serve as a technical resource to our overseas locations.
This role is both strategic and hands-on, responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory and corporate policies, and for cultivating a strong safety and environmental culture across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the HS&EQ program at the Conway facility and provide technical guidance to international locations.
- Support business growth by driving compliance and assisting with permitting processes.
- Act as a subject matter expert on EH&S matters while aligning practices with Metglas's core values and vision.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to integrate EH&S practices into broader operational efforts.
- Lead and mentor employee teams in the continuous improvement of safety, environmental, and quality goals.
- Develop, recommend, and implement practical solutions to resolve EH&S issues in a manufacturing environment.
- Maintain budget oversight and ensure optimal resource allocation for EH&S initiatives.

- Solid knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, policies, and best practices
- Demonstrated decision-making abilities using Total Quality and Six Sigma principles
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization
- Experience in workers’ compensation case management and strategy
- Familiarity with TSCA regulations and MSDS formulation
- Strong organizational, program, and budget management skills
- Ability to identify strategic opportunities for improvement and lead cross-functional initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
- 0–5 years of progressive experience in Health, Safety, or Environmental roles within a manufacturing setting
- Proven ability to implement and sustain behavioral safety programs
- Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
