MeteorMate is an innovative, student-driven project at UT Dallas aimed at making roommate matching easier and more efficient. Our platform integrates creative web design, data analytics, and AI-driven features to streamline the process of finding compatible roommates. With our goal to launch by Summer 2025, we want to build a seamless, visually engaging user experience that resonates with the UTD community.
As the UI/UX Designer, you’ll shape the look and feel of MeteorMate’s user-facing platform, ensuring that our product is not only functional but also enjoyable to use!
- Collaborate with the project team to translate user needs and requirements into clear, intuitive interface designs.
- Use tools like Figma to create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups that effectively illustrate design concepts and user flows.
- Develop cohesive style guidelines (color schemes, typography, and iconography) that align with MeteorMate’s brand and mission.
- Conduct user research sessions, gather feedback on prototypes, and iterate designs based on findings to improve usability and engagement.
- Work closely with developers, the project manager, and the social media team to ensure the final product meets technical constraints while maintaining an excellent user experience.
- Implement responsive design principles to cater to various screen sizes and ensure inclusivity for all users.
- Stay informed about emerging UI/UX trends, best practices, and technologies to keep MeteorMate’s user experience fresh and competitive.
- Currently enrolled at UT Dallas (non-UTD applications will be declined).
- Familiarity with tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD for wireframing and prototyping.
- Knowledge of user flows, information architecture, and usability testing methodologies.
- Ability to craft engaging, intuitive interfaces with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to present design ideas clearly and work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple design tasks, meet deadlines, and pivot as project needs evolve.
- Basic familiarity with front-end frameworks like React.js. (optional)
- Interest in animation libraries such as anime.js to enhance user interactivity. (optional)
